When you can't trust Quaker Oats, who in Corporate America CAN you trust?
I write to companies all the time to express my feelings about being poisoned with GMO/GE foods and ingredients, dangerous additives (like aspartame), factory farmed meat/eggs, ad nauseum. They rarely reply with any degree of social responsibility, moral responsibility or actually take responsibility in any way for their behavior. The bigger the business, the more psychotic they are.
What follows is my discourse with Quaker Oats. Read it and weep. Then write to them yourself. Then stop buying anything they make until they clean up their act. OR you can just continue supporting such bad behavior and wonder why the hell you're sick and/or fat and/or ended up with a severely disabling or terminal disease. Either way, it's your choice.
Just remember, the easy way out rarely ever really is.

This whole website is a testament to the power of propaganda. You talk endlessly about being green and eco-conservation and healthy food. Yet nowhere do you address one of the burning issues of the day, GMO/GE crops and ingredients. That, apparently, is because you use them extensively. Which means I no longer use anything made by Quaker, because I can't trust you NOT to poison me with GMO/GEs. It is sickening to see this site, knowing that it's ALL BS, but that people will read it and believe this is healthy food. I wish I lived in a country like Australia, where the government won't allow corporate interests (read: greed) to outweigh the health of their people. You HAVE to respect your customers' health THERE, but you DON'T have to HERE, so you DON'T. Shame on you. I've left two comments tonight on your not updated in two years pages. I know they won't be published, but if anyone bothers to read them, you get the message. Clearly, you don't care if you are making y our customers sick, but do you care if your customers STOP being your customers? Maybe not, maybe you think losing one or two is better than having to use only natural and healthy ingredients. My goal is to turn one or two into one or two billion. Maybe if you start feeling the only pain you can feel....loss of money....you'll clean up your act.

As you may have already read, the safety of Quaker's products is of the utmost importance to us. This is why Quaker U.S. uses only foods that have been declared safe by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), including foods developed through biotechnology. The FDA has concluded that these foods are the same - and therefore, as safe - as other foods in their nutrition, composition and ability to be used as foods in other products.
Quaker's oats and oatmeal are not developed through biotechnology. In fact, there are no oats developed through biotechnology currently available on the market. While Quaker does not require or exclude the use of these foods, the use of corn, canola and soya developed through food biotechnology is widespread. Currently, there is no system in place in the United States that separates these foods. So, there is a high probability that some of Quaker's products contain foods developed through biotechnology.
Food biotechnology is not a new phenomenon. Since Roman times, plants have been selectively crossbred to develop crops that are tastier, more hearty and more resistant to certain pests and plant diseases than their predecessors. Modern biotechnology provides an ability to transfer desired traits into plants much faster and more selectively. This, in turn, can result in fewer pesticides being used, greater conservation of land and water, better tasting and more nutritional foods and more abundant food supplies to address world hunger.
Quaker will continue to use only foods that are declared safe by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Additionally, Quaker will use only foods that we believe are safe for our consumers' families.

You're kidding, right? You're actually relying on information obtained from not only the MOST CORRUPT Federal agency in existence but one that is headed and manned by EX-MONSANTO execs and employees? And you actually expect me to swallow that, hook, line and sinker? PUUULEEEEEEZE.

THIS is what you get when you let the fox guard the hen house. I don't CARE what the FDA has concluded. When you inject insect and shellfish and other animal dna into plant dna, the dna matrix mutates over generations. It does not take long for this mutation to occur. Those mutations cause disease in humans and animals because our bodies are not equipped to metabolize the mutated genetics of these Frankenfoods. This is NOT news, it's been known for some time. The FDA conveniently overlooks that fact along with thousands of other facts when making their determination in favor of Monsanto and other biotech companies.

The second sentence is patently FALSE. A major purpose of Monsanto's GMOs is to create crops that are *Roundup Ready*, so they can spray MORE pesticides on them, creating MORE toxic foods. GMO crops are prone to catastrophic failure, are nutritionally depleted, do not grow conventionally and require purchased elements to force them to grow, dramatically deplete the soil they're grown in, require more...not less...pesticides and are unsafe due to genetic mutations. Our food tastes JUST FINE the way Mother Nature created it. Another major purpose of Monsanto's GMOs is to patent all seeds and end seed saving by farmers, all while placing all end results of catastrophic crop failures on the farmers, which, in turn, REDUCES world food supplies and INCREASES food shortages. Seriously, do you really think anyone who's spent more than 5 minutes learning about why our food supply is so toxic would fall for this reasoning? Even the Sheeple are starting to reject such outright propaganda.

These two sentences are mutually exclusive. Together, they are an oxymoron. You cannot have it both ways. So which is it? You're going with the criminally corrupt FDA guidelines OR foods that are safe for your consumer's families? Oh. Wait. I see what you did. You said *foods that WE BELIEVE are safe*. And you believe everything the FDA tells you, rather than science, because it suits your needs. You should just 'fess up to that reason, because the only other explanation is that you're idiotic enough to ACTUALLY believe everything the FDA tells you. The FDA says aspartame is safe, too, so I suggest you all eat as much of that as you can, every day. And when you're all no longer with us long before your *time*, maybe you'll be replaced by people who don't sell out because it's easy and profitable to do so.
Being staffed by Monsanto, it's not hard to see why the FDA sells out American consumers. It's sickening, but it's easy to see why it happens. But what really disgusts me is when other companies use CLEARLY flawed information to justify doing the same thing.

In fact, there are no oats developed through biotechnology currently available on the market.*** I would have continued buying your oatmeal. But since you decided to justify your position of using products KNOWN to cause severe health problems in humans AND the animals we eat, I am placing you on my personal boycott list and publishing your response so that others can see exactly just how much Quaker *cares*, and I use that term VERY loosely, about it's customers.
Your corporate attitude is morally corrupt. Should you ever decide to clean it up and do what is right for your customers, I will return to being one. Until then, I will continue exposing this attitude every chance I get. That is my only remaining interest in your products and company.
